That God Would Die for Me
That God Himself would die for me –
Oh, what a contemplation –
To save my soul from hell and death
And righteous condemnation.
The mighty God, eternal, good,
Unending, changeless, holy,
Came down to earth, became a man,
So humble, meek, and lowly.
The Lord of all paid taxes here,
He hungered, slept, was tempted,
He faced the worse to pass each test
We’d failingly attempted.
The mighty King was then condemned
For sins He’d not committed,
Yet for our sake He suffered on
And full disgrace permitted.
Amazing love! What grace divine!
My God became my Savior!
My life, my love, my praise, my all
Are His alone forever.

very nice little piece of prose, Christina! “Amazing love, how can it be, that Thou my God would die for me!”
I am amazed every day that he loves me so thank you, Jesus!
Amen!!! Amazing love!!
I just love to read your poems every week. You are truly a blessing ❤️
