Matthew 6:19-21
On earth we find things break and rust
And thieves can take with guile;
We can’t be sure of keeping safe
The stuff that we compile.
But things laid up to last above
Are kept by God secure;
They cannot fade or disappear
But evermore endure.
For where we lay our treasures up
Our hearts will follow too;
So set your heart on things above
Where Jesus waits for you.

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4
Dear Christina,
I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the poems that you sent me. Today’s poem reminded me that my treasure is in Heaven. I am 80 years old and I look forward to when Jesus will call me home. Thank you for sharing your God-given talent to write poems and share them with other believers. May God continue to bless you and inspire you.
