Increase My Thirst

Increase my thirst, dear Lord,
That I might long to drink
Forever from the fount of life,
And lead me to its brink.

For You have promised, Lord,
A plentiful supply
To quench my thirst with more to spare
That never can run dry.

But, Lord, my thirst is small,
So soon I’m satisfied –
I want to have a growing thirst
That keeps me by Your side.

Oh Lord, increase my thirst
Until I never stray,
Until Your life flows out through me
To others day by day.
