God’s Unfolding Will

God’s will is like a flower bud
Unfolding day by day –
We watch its course expectantly
And learn to watch and pray.

The petals open one by one –
At times it seems so slow,
Until we catch a broader glimpse
And see the blossom glow.

For as the bloom at last unfolds,
Its beauty comes to light –
And what we hoped with eager hearts
Is open to our sight.

Lord, I will do as You direct,
And watch Your plan unfold –
For step by step Your loving skill
And wisdom I behold.
