Building on the Bedrock
I’m building on the bedrock
That’s sure and will not shift;
I’m anchored in securely
To what will never drift.
God’s Word is my foundation
That cannot pass away;
The Rock of my salvation
Is changeless day by day.
Though all the highest mountains
May crumble in the sea,
And though the mighty oceans
May rise and threaten me,
My soul is safe, protected
By One who cannot fail,
And all the hosts of darkness
Will nevermore prevail.
So though the world around me
May change or fall apart,
My life will stand securely –
God knows my name by heart.
My life is built on Jesus,
His Spirit’s strength I know,
And though life’s storms are raging
He’ll never let me go.

Thanks again Christina for more of your inspiring words. God has given you an incredible gift of putting them into poems that just jump out at us for what we already believe but just don’t know how to put them together. This poem is one of them that did this for me, especially the last stanza that reminds me again what my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did for me. The first time I read it my heart just jumped with joy. I read it three times and had the same reaction. That whole last stanza is so true but the one line that stands out to me says
“God knows my name by heart”. I know that He does, but that reminder is special to me today
Beautiful reminder of Who has in the palm of His hands protecting us.
Sometimes we can get so preoccupied with our own little lives we can forget Who is safely guiding us to our Heavenly Home.
Praise God …So encouraging 🙏
What a beautiful reminder of Jesus love and comfort for us through storms , His spirit strengthens us through it all what a blessing we have in Jesus . Have a blessed day. Thankyou for the beautiful poem. God bless
