Building Foundations
I want a past that’s faithful,
So I will make today
A part of that foundation,
Be past things as they may.
I want good, healthy habits,
So I will strive to do
The right things as I’m living,
Things faithful, good, and true.
I want strong, lasting friendships,
So I will be a friend –
I’ll be more kind and friendly,
Myself I will extend.
I want to know my Savior
And walk through life with God,
So I will walk with Jesus,
And seek Him in His Word.
If I just wish forever,
I’ll wish forevermore;
Instead I’ll take to building
Foundations strong and sure.
