You cannot hide from God,
He sees by day and night;
To Him the hidden things are plain,
The darkest things are light.
But you can hide in God,
Our refuge and retreat,
Within the shelter of His hand
Where safety is compete.
From judgement and from harm,
In every storm that blows,
Beneath the shadow of His wings
What peace the spirit knows!

God loves it when His children come
And ask for help each day;
He never wearies of our need
Or tells us, “Go away.”
He loves to do the things we ask
And so much more besides;
He loves to hear each joy and fear
Our heart in Him confides.
He loves to bring deliverance
In answer to our prayer
So all the world can see Him work
And know, “The Lord was there!”

You planned before the world began
What I should do today –
Good works to please and honor You

However large a task may seem,
I know You’ve planned supplies;
Sufficient grace and strength is mine
To claim the promise prize.

Though billions live around the earth,
I cannot reach them all;
I’d waste today pursuing worth
And miss the greater call.
Its those I know and those I meet
Whose lives I’ll shape today –
I’ll lift them up or help defeat
Pursue its grinding way.

I face the lonely dark of night
And shudder at the thought
Of meeting what I know awaits –
The battles to be fought.
A tear unbidden fills my eye
And slowly rolls away.
I wish for morning: couldn’t night
Just vanish for today?
Tis then I hear an unseen voice
That echoes through the vale;
Another pilgrim gone ahead
Is singing on the trail:

The world is lost and broken –
They need the Lord so much,
They need His love and mercy,
They need His saving touch.
Some bask in tempting pleasures
The things of earth can bring
That fill life’s fleeting moments
Yet cost them everything.
While other folks are desperate
In search of something more,
Unhappy or despondent
They’re hurting at the core.
