A Quilt of White

The snow spreads out a quilt of white
On winter’s frosty bed
On quiet land and sleepy trees
Its snowy puff is spread

It sparkles bright beneath the sun
Like diamonds on the loose
Each crystal shining bright and clean
From holly branch and spruce

I love its beauty soft and pure
That brightens winter days
I love its glitter as it falls
And sings its Maker’s praise

But most of all I love the way
Its silent lesson shows
How pure and white God makes my heart
Since Jesus Christ arose
